I bought a new MacBook Air to replace my very old 2015 MacBook. I didn’t want to break the bank and M2 model was very reasonably priced at Best Buy so I picked one up.

I’ve had it for a couple of days and it’s been great. One of the reasons I replaced my old MacBook was that the battery was very weak and would only last an hour or so. That’s not a problem at all with the new one. I’ve run it for a couple of days of light use without charging.

The screen is pretty good. Definitely bigger than my old one with much more narrow bezels. The brightness is also nice but not that noticeable compared to my old one.

The keyboard is definely much better. The old one was very flat and it was sometimes difficult to type on due to the extremely short travel of the keys. The M2has a bit more space on the keyboard and the travel is better. Not as good as my Lenovo X1, but decent.

I also like the MagSafe power port. The old MacBook only had one USB-C port so if you were charging, that’s it. Plus, it would be easier to pull onto the floor if you accidentally tripped over the USB cable. Not a problem with MagSafe.

Overall, a good purchase so far. The migration process has been fine. I’ve been slowly reinstalling the stuff I want or need and using this as a opportunity to not install things I don’t use. I guess I should buy a new MacBook more than once a decade.
